How do I begin using the pool?
All guests of The Canine Pool Centre begin their journey with a private induction session. Simply enquire via phone or email to request an appointment. If the experience proves a good fit for you and your dog, you’ll be granted access to our online calendar to book future sessions at your leisure.
What can I expect during the induction?
The 45-minute induction (£50) is a one-on-one experience designed to ensure your confidence and comfort. We guide you through preparing your dog, safe entry and exit techniques, fitting buoyancy aids, and encouraging calm, restorative swimming. You'll also learn to recognise signs of fatigue and understand how to conclude your session with care and clarity.
Is the induction refundable if we aren’t a good fit?
No. The induction fee is non-refundable. Our pool hire is not to used as a clinical hydrotherapy facility, and dogs requiring rehabilitation, post-operative care, or specialist intervention will not be invited to continue under the self-lead sessions. This is a wellness space, not a substitute for medical treatment.
How do I book future sessions?
Once approved, you’ll be given access to our private booking system. You may schedule any available 30-minute slot at your convenience.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes—rescheduling is available up to 24 hours before your appointment. Missed sessions or late cancellations are non-refundable.
What is included in a standard session?
Each 30-minute session (£20) offers sole use of the heated pool, pre-swim shower, and access to our standard buoyancy aids.
Can I book consecutive sessions?
No. For the wellbeing of your dog, we do not permit back-to-back bookings.
Is the pool available year-round?
Yes. Our pool is temperature-controlled and operates throughout the year for your dog’s continued wellbeing.
Are there any additional charges I should be aware of?
A £100 cleaning charge will apply if a dog defecates in the water. Guests are expected to leave the facility clean, tidy, and ready for the next visitor.
Are all breeds allowed?
Yes, though brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds (once approved) must swim with caution and at the owner's discretion.
Can puppies or senior dogs attend?
Absolutely, provided they are healthy and physically capable. Puppies should be over 16 weeks of age.
Do I need to enter the water with my dog?
Yes. The pool is not staffed, and your dog must never swim unattended. Sessions are designed as shared, bonding experiences—supportive and slow-paced.
What should I wear?
Anything you feel comfortable in. Many owners opt for lightweight swimwear or quick-dry layers. Please also bring towels and appropriate footwear for wet areas. There are basic changing facilities.
Can I bring someone with me to watch?
No. To preserve the peaceful atmosphere, sessions are limited to one dog and one adult participant. Spectators and children are not permitted within the building.
What hygiene and safety measures are in place?
The pool is maintained to a high standard with daily cleaning and frequent water testing. Dogs must be showered before swimming. Outside the water, all dogs must remain on lead and under control.
Is the facility monitored?
Yes. For your safety, and to preserve the quality of the space, the premises is covered by CCTV.
Do I need to remain on-site during the session?
Yes. You must remain present and actively engaged throughout the session. This is a shared experience designed to deepen your bond.
